STING MkII Seabed Penetrometer

The Seabed Terminal Impact Newton Gradiometer (STING) is a free-falling penetrometer probe used to assess seabed sediment composition and bearing strength.

A.G.O. Environmental sells the STING in association with Microsec R&D Inc, who helped develop its electronics.

Porous Pots

Porous pots are low-cost, low-tech, rugged tools for self potential (SP) and induced polarization (IP) geophysical surveys for mineral exploration.  Also known as “non-polarizable electrodes.”

Dummy Probes and Headers

Dummy probes are important gear for testing borehole conditions to locate and avoid sections with high risk of jamming before sending down expensive equipment.  A.G.O.’s dummy headers feature a quick-release shear pin to release the dummy probe if it gets stuck in the borehole.
